Embroidery finished
Last year at Open Studio I was working on two machine and hand embroidered projects. Ever since that summer life has been very busy but also very quiet and a bit lazy or let’s call it restful 🙂  As the Open Studio is approaching again I thought I better finish them in case people are going to ask about them. This bank holiday rainy Monday was the perfect time for that! Â
This is how it started in May last year – picture of a floral heart which caught my attention … so I traced it on fine tissue paper, stitched through the paper with yellow thread onto purple silk. This choice of colours was made based on the colour of perle cotton I had – gorgeous purple and yellow variegated. Â
At the beginning I thought I’ll just do few french knots and maybe fill a leaf or two …Â

And then I got carried away and I couldn’t stop!! And I enjoyed every single stitch I have made …

I even unpicked one of the first stitches – the biggest filler – to make it look better, I didn’t like the way I did it the first time round.Â

So for now it’s finished and I’m very pleased with it. Now I need to decide what kind of frame to put it into!! Will show you the final picture soon …

Thank you for readingÂ
