Welcome to the video tutorial for a Quilted and painted design. It used to be just Mandalas but we now have several feather designs available as well.

In this online video course, you will learn everything you need to know from choosing the right fabric and thread, I will demonstrate how to quilt your design with a walking foot or a free motion quilting foot if you prefer. One very long lesson is dedicated to the Marabu Liners – the paint we’re using to bring these designs to live. And last but not least I will show you two ways of finishing your wall-hanging with a piped binding or binding with facing.

Below is the list of the lessons, each step of the construction has it’s own lesson with a video (or several videos) – this way it will be easy for you to sew along – watch, sew the step while it’s fresh in your head and easily come back to your next lesson.

Your free designs of Mandala Klara and Peacock Feather can be downloaded from lesson 2 – Transferring the design.

You can move to the next lesson by clicking on green Complete lesson button or the arrows at the bottom of the page will take you to the previous or next lesson. You can always access your course by logging in and finding My Courses in the My Account menu on top of our pages.

8 Piped edge

You can neaten up the edge by using an ordinary binding, but if you’d like to jazz it up a bit, you can use piped binging.

9 Binding with facing

And the second way how you can finish this hanging is using a facing which brings the edges to the back and therefore it looks invisible.
