Full-day workshop visit:
Choose a workshop you’d like to do from the list in the Group enquiries section and contact us by phone or email (info@oliven.co.uk) to discuss dates and requirements for the class. Groups of 8-12 people – £40 pp.
Half-day no-sew workshop visit:
We have two 1-hour workshops ready for you from as little as £15 per person for both workshops. We can accommodate anything from 6 to 20 participants. If you are interested, please give us a call or send us an email to discuss numbers and dates.
First workshop: Painting with liners – £9 per person
We will have plenty pre-quilted panels available for people to choose from, (feather, tree, Xmas tree, jellyfish, paisley) they can then use our full range of the Marabu liners to decorate their panel. Paint takes a couple of hours to dry, so we’ll start with this one in the morning so that it can dry before you leave in the afternoon. Once dry, the panel can be sewn into a small wall hanging, cushion or file/book cover. I will show them samples of those.
We provide everything for this class.
Second workshop: Quiltagami flower – £6 per person
I will demonstrate and guide people through the lovely technique of folding fabric to create a flower in a square, this square (multiplied by 4) can be later used to create a cushion. I will provide everybody with printed full instructions for them to take home which will guide them through the process of folding as well as the construction of the whole cushion.
Each participant will need to bring with them four 6” squares of plain-ish fabric and matching thread and hand sewing kit.
Typical Group visit will look something like this: Groups usually arrive around 10-11 am. First, we start with the painting workshop so that the paint has time to dry until the afternoon – this session takes about an hour. After this ladies go and have a look around the shop and all meet in the tearoom for a pre-booked lunch. More browsing through the many shops on the site and we meet again at 2 pm for the hand sewing workshop. The second session also lasts about an hour. Finish around 3-4PM.
