Lectures and talks
All of my talks are picture packed presentations, whether you join me in person or over Zoom. Each talk is about an hour long with as much time for your gorup for Q&A afterward as you’d like.
Each talk below also states what I also bring with me for In person talks. If you’re hosting me in person, I’d just ask that your venue has a screen and projector set up or I can bring my own projector prior to agreement.

Journey with OliVen
From a childhood in the Czech Republic to running her own quilt shop and teaching across the UK, this talk is Vendulka’s own story — told through the quilts that mark each chapter. She brings her very first make, treasured family quilts, award-winners (including her Best in Show piece), and what she’s working on right now.

Judging and Winning
Ever wondered what happens on the other side of the judging table? As a qualified quilt judge, Vendulka takes you through how she trained to become one, bringing along samples made as part of her own judging course. She shares honest, practical advice on entering competitions and what judges are really looking for — and brings a selection of her own award-winning quilts along for a closer look.

Quilted Jackets
Vendulka’s love of both dressmaking and free-motion quilting led her to create a whole wardrobe of quilted jackets. In this talk, she shares her advice on choosing patterns and fabrics, plus a few hard-won tips for taming bulky seams.

No More Squares and Trinagles
A look inside Vendulka’s more artistic body of work, where traditional patchwork gives way to a bolder, contemporary approach and a genuine love of Modern quilting. A large selection of finished wall hangings comes along in person, alongside a presentation exploring how her style evolved.

Beautiful Mariage of Piecing and Quilting
A celebration of 14 artists who pushed quilting beyond its practical roots, using it so skilfully that it lifted their piecing and appliqué work to another level entirely — the kind of quilting that makes you stop and look twice. Vendulka shares the story behind each piece and what makes the marriage of piecing and quilting so powerful.Â
In person: projected presentation only
