Longarm Hire

RENT Handi Quilter 20″ AMARA ( our one is called Samsara) 

Would you like to quilt your own top on on a long arm machine? You can do so on  our 20″ Handi Quilter Amara. After an initial training course you can now hire the machine time and complete your quilt under supervision. I will always be on hand to help.

 Training – up to 2hours – £40 

The session lasts for up to 2 hours – you will learn to load your sandwich onto the frame, use the specialised clamps system and then reposition your quilt, secure your threads and how to use the pantograph (should you wish to) . The price for the session includes the practice “sandwich” and use of threads. You can play and practice for up to 2 hours, if you feel ready before, we can load your own quilt and the hourly charge will only start after the 2 hours finished.

Machine Hire £18.00 per hour (or part hour)

All sessions are fully supervised.  You will also need to bring your quilt top and enough wadding and backing fabric that is 4″ wider on each side compared to the quilt top. For example, if your quilt top is 60″ x 60″, you will need both your backing and wadding to be at least 68″x68″.

Wadding and threads available to purchase on the day. Unfortunately we do not stock extra wide backings yet. There are two local places which you can visit to purchase a backing from DaisyMayQuilting in Martlesham or J-quilts in East Bergholt.
