16/7 Dream catcher with Vendulka Battais

Friday 16th July 10-4 PM £42

Whether you believe in the magic of dream catchers or not, they are still beautiful creations to look at. Learn to weave the net, make your own feathers from organza and have fun!

To keep the guidelines of social distancing we can now only have 8 students per class. The class still costs £42, to secure your place you can now only pay a deposit and we will be in touch closer to date to confirm that it’s safe to run the class and to require the remaining £32.

In stock

In this class, you will learn the traditional way to weave the dreamcatcher, we will be experimenting with machine embroidery to make the feathers using organza. You can use your experience with free motion quilting or if you don’t feel confident, you can make the feathers with a straight stitch. You will be shown how to assemble all the components using beads, pendants or real feathers as your embellishments.

IMPORTANT Preparation at home:
In order to get as far as we can on the day, could you please take your top fabric, wadding and backing, create a quilting sandwich and quilt as desired in a very matching thread to your chosen fabric. It doesn’t really matter what sort of quilting you will choose, just quilt the whole surface evenly – stippling or Vermicelli is fine, straight or wavy crossing lines with the walking foot are fine as well. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Use thread which will blend in, we want the quilting to be there but not stand out as we will be adding more stitching on top.
