Description
In the class, we will spend the morning tracing and quilting the Mandala design onto our fabric and wadding sandwich. I have several designs you will be able to choose from, 5 different Mandala designs and 2 different Christmas trees if you wish. The project is suitable for those experienced with free-motion quilting as well as those who have no quilting experience as I have designs for walking foot as well.
The afternoon will be then dedicated to the “colouring” the shapes with Marabu liners. We will have some practice runs before we embark on the actual project. You will have the full use of all the range of colours on the day plus opportunity to purchase some paint if you’ll wish to continue more at home.
Requirements
You will need to bring a piece of plain-ish fabric in the size you’d like your hanging
or your cushion to be. Usually Fat quarter is big enough unless you want to go
bigger. This can be a light or dark colour.
Wadding of the same size (or a little bit bigger)
Backing fabric – preferably calico or plain LIGHT fabric as we will trace a design onto the back, if your front fabric will be too dark or to avoid the lines showing
Thread for the quilting – variegated looks really good, choose one which will stand
out on your top fabric
Sewing machine with walking foot or free motion quilting foot – whichever you
prefer to work with
Extension table for you machine if you have one
Marking pen

Terms
Cancellation with 2 weeks notice – we will refund your payment or offer you a place on a future workshop.
Cancellations within 13 – 8 days of the workshop – we will refund 50% of the payment.
Last-minute cancellations, ie. 7 days or less before a workshop – we’re afraid we cannot refund any payments as from experience we’ve found it impossible to fill places at such short notice.
Full refund for cancellation under 14 days possible if we replace you. Thank you for understanding with these formalities.
A requirement list can be found in the previous tab. The cost of supplies and fabrics are not included in the cost of the workshop unless stated. If you purchase your supplies for the workshop at OliVen you will receive 5% discount.
A sewing machine or overlocker can be hired in the shop for £5 a day – subject to availability.
