Quick Easter Project
We have received several new fabrics in last few days and quite a few with Easter theme. One of them is panel with a lovely hens, all black and white with a touch of red which is such a good companion for B/W. I was just in the middle of quilting a quilt for Vectis Quilter’s raffle this year and so I thought I’ll just quickly quilt few hens as well.
All I needed was one panel, some fabric for backing, which I decided to be gray for the placemats and nice black fabric with eggs for the backing of the coasters. I used black/gray/white variagated thread for the quilting and bright red for binding.
I quilted the outline of the hens and copied the lines of the printed border. Added binding for the place mats and only used wide zig-zag stitch to neaten up the edges of the coasters.
A voilà … 3 hours later the only thing left to do is to sew the binding which I love to do by hand and I can do that while watching Great British Sewing Bee. ( thanks for internet and bbc iplayer!!!!)
If you’d like to make some for yourself or as a present for your loved ones fabrics can be bought in our online shop and if you’d like to be lazy this time, I have added it to the Etsy shop!!
